For some reason, I seem to be like an alien to most people. I do not like avocado, guacamole, or any of the other million things that people make with  avacados.

I have been this way my whole life. It was OK when I was a kid because avocados weren’t as prevelant in food like they are today. Guacamole was something you got at a Mexican restaurant, but it wasn’t available at Subway or other fast food places and there weren’t 15 different varieties in the grocery store.

Now, there is chopped avocado in most salads I want to order when eating out. They are on top of sandwiches. They are in a chicken dishes. They are just EVERYWHERE. When I ask a waiter to hold the avocados, I tend to get a look like I am from another planet. They wouldn’t look twice if someone asked to hold Brussel sprouts or something similar.

My husband loves avocados and guacamole so when food comes with either, even after asking for none, I am lucky he is more than happily take it off my hands for me. He is my hero.

So people, there are folks in this world who do not share your enthusiasm for the mushy and weird textured fruit. Now, don’t even get me started on olives…
